Consumers Advance Salesforce Class Action Over Intercepted Chats

Salesforce Inc. must face a proposed class action alleging it illegally intercepted online chat conversations between its clients Rite Aid Corp. and Kaiser Permanente and their customers and patients.

Plaintiffs Patrick Yockey and Pearl Magpayo adequately stated claims of violations of the California Invasion of Privacy Act and the Pennsylvania Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Control Act, Judge Jon S. Tigar of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Aug. 16.
