Consumer Drops Domino’s Suit Over Use of Phone Calls to Train AI

A consumer dropped his lawsuit against Domino’s Pizza Inc. alleging the restaurant chain allowed technology provider ConverseNow Technologies Inc. to wiretap customer calls to its restaurants without consent in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act.

Daniel Padilla alleged in an October 2024 complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan that ConverseNow, a co-defendant in the lawsuit, used recordings of the customer calls to train the artificial intelligence technology embedded in its automated voice-assistant system.
