Consumer Tap Water Reports Need EPA Update, NRDC Suit Says (1)

The EPA missed its deadline to update requirements for community water systems’ reports to consumers about drinking water standard violations and contaminants in their tap water, the Natural Resources Defense Council said in a complaint filed Tuesday in federal district court in New York.

The Environmental Protection Agency is bound by a congressional mandate to revise the requirements to make the reports more accurate, readable, and more frequent, the nonprofit organization said in its complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
