Pair Sues Over First Amendment Rights, I-95 Overpasses (2)

Two residents of New Haven, Conn., have sued Garrett Eucalitto and Ronnell Higgins, both officials in the state, alleging a violation of their First Amendment rights.

Erin Quinn and Robert Marra claim the defendants threatened to interrupt, arrest, cite, or prosecute them for holding signs on overpasses over Interstate 95 in Connecticut. The pair of state officials allegedly violated the Speech Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by threatening their speech on overpasses traversing interstate highways where they are otherwise lawfully present.
