Connecticut Governor Immune From Teachers’ Vaccine Mandate Suit

A lower court properly held that Governor Edward Lamont, of Connecticut, was entitled to qualified immunity in a suit alleging his order mandating public school teachers get vaccinated or test weekly for Covid-19 violated teachers’ constitutional rights, a federal appeals court said on Tuesday.

Lamont issued the order in September 2021, and teachers who didn’t comply would have been put on administrative leave or fired. The order expired in February 2022.
