Congressional Candidate Moves to Toss Campbell’s Trademark Suit

Michigan congressional candidate Shelby Campbell asked a federal judge to throw out claims that she and her campaign are infringing The Campbell’s Co.‘s trade dress to promote her election.

The soup company is “attempting to transform a lighthearted political pun and personal nickname into federal trademark litigation,” but fails to support any of its claims, the Democratic candidate argued in a motion to dismiss docketed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
