Business-services provider Conduent Inc. faces a proposed class action over a 2024 data breach that exposed the information of more than 4.3 million people who had health-savings accounts and other employee benefits HealthEquity Inc. managed.
The plaintiffs alleged that Conduent breached its duties under common law, contract law, industry standards, the Federal Trade Commission Act, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act to implement reasonable and adequate data-security measures and provide timely notice of the incident.
