Concentrix Applicants Win Class Status for Background-Check Suit

Rejected job applicants at Concentrix Corp. challenging the company’s use of consumer reports in the job-application process can bring their claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act as a class action, a federal court ruled.

Judge David A. Ruiz certified a class as high as 50 applicants who were rejected for jobs at Concentrix based on disqualifying information in their consumer reports, and who received emails from the company informing them they were no longer being considered for a position before they had an opportunity to dispute the information.
