Community Health Systems Inc. negligently failed to protect the personal information of nearly 1.2 million people in connection with a January data breach, a new proposed federal class action said.
Timothy Ferguson alleged that CHS showed a “reckless disregard” for data security and that the breach was a direct result of its failure to implement basic data-security procedures and follow Federal Trade Commission guidelines.
