Comment Deluge Shows Opposition to Nixing Endangerment Finding

Advocates, businesses, local leaders, and others filed more than 300,000 comments to an EPA proposal that would scrap legal language establishing greenhouse gases as a danger to public health.

The Environmental Protection Agency closed the docket for comments Sept. 22, ending the next step in the rulemaking process for a proposed revocation of the 2009 endangerment finding and vehicle emission standards.

Critics maintain the move flies against years of research that proves climate change is both human-caused and getting worse without effective greenhouse gas mitigation.
