Colorado’s Under-21 Firearms Restrictions Ruled Constitutional

The state of Colorado beat a lawsuit brought by a gun rights advocacy group that claimed a law restricting individuals under 21 from purchasing firearms violated the Second Amendment.

The Thursday district court ruling, dismissing with prejudice the plaintiffs’ claim, comes as federal circuit courts weigh whether similar age-based restrictions on the sale and open carry of firearms violate the Second Amendment in light of recent US Supreme Court decisions.
