Colorado Challenges EPA’s Rejection of Its Regional Haze Plan

Colorado petitioned the Tenth Circuit on Wednesday after the US Environmental Protection Agency rejected its revised plan to improve visibility at national parks by shuttering some of the state’s coal plants.

“EPA’s decision to disapprove Colorado’s regional haze state implementation plan is based on policy objections to closing coal plants and it is another example of the Trump administration intruding on state authority without any basis in law,” said Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser in a news release.
