Cleveland Guardians Settle Cactus League Worker’s Wage Claims

The Cleveland Guardians baseball team has settled claims it violated federal labor law by failing to fully compensate a worker at the club’s Arizona spring training facility.

The ball club will pay Jenae Finton 100% of the overtime and minimum wage compensation that she seeks, as well as liquidated damages of the same amount, the parties told the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona Thursday.

The club will also pay Finton’s attorney fees and costs as determined by the court after briefing and argument.

Finton worked for the director of Arizona operations at the club’s spring training facility. ...
