Class Action Against Self-Help Law Site Stays in Federal Court

A proposed class action against SoloSuit, a company that offers pro se defendants assistance in defending debt collection lawsuits, clears the amount-in-controversy threshold to remain in federal court, a US judge said.

Judge Steven C. Seeger of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on Monday denied plaintiff Deborah Palanti’s motion to remand her case, siding with the company he described as “like TurboTax for lawsuits.”
