City Housing Authorities Sue Over Trump’s Federal Grant Terms

A group of city housing authorities from San Francisco, Los Angeles, and other major American cities sued the Trump administration over coercive federal grant conditions that could result in millions in lost funding in the next few days.

The lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California said the Department of Housing and Urban Development has required the housing authorities to sign certifications by Oct. 21 that they will comply with a host of new conditions.

Among those are requirements that grants aren’t used to promote “gender ideology” or illegal immigration. The housing authorities must ...
