A group of cities and counties including San Francisco, New York, and Boston won a court order Wednesday requiring the Trump administration to release federal grant money allocated to the localities for homelessness programs and transit projects.
Judge Barbara J. Rothstein at a hearing in Seattle granted the cities’ request for a 14-day temporary restraining order prohibiting the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Federal Transit Authority from imposing new conditions on hundreds of millions of dollars in grants.
