Cities Win Expanded Order Blocking Trump’s New Funding Rules (1)

President Donald Trump‘s administration is barred from imposing funding conditions on $12 billion in grants for homelessness and transit infrastructure to more than two dozen cities and counties, a federal court held.

Judge Barbara J. Rothstein expanded a previous preliminary injunction on Tuesday that prevented the administration from imposing its new conditions against 31 cities, including New York, Boston, and San Francisco, to add 30 more local governments. Rothstein also said that the new plaintiffs’ grants must be processed and the funds dispersed, according to her ruling for US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
