Citibank Hit With Ex-SVP’s Suit Over Pregnancy, Disability Bias

Citibank NA is accused of wrongfully firing a senior vice president who had suffered from a rare, high-risk pregnancy condition in violation of federal and state employment laws.

The bank allegedly tried to attribute Daphné Pierre’s firing to “job abandonment” after repeatedly refusing to allow her to exercise her legal rights to paid disability and parental leave, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
