Cisco Suits in Network Patent Dispute Survive, Stay in Delaware

Cisco Systems Inc. and its Acacia Communications Inc. unit kept claims active in federal court in Delaware Monday in the latest chapter of a protracted patent struggle with the University of Tel Aviv’s business arm over fiber-optic networking technology.

Ramot at Tel Aviv University Ltd. isn’t entitled to the dismissal of Cisco and Acacia’s noninfringement claims, Judge Gregory B. Williams said for the US District Court for the District of Delaware. Cisco and its subsidiary are seeking declaratory judgments that their high-speed networking equipment doesn’t infringe two recent Ramot patents.
