Christie’s Pays $990,000 to Settle RansomHub Data Breach Lawsuit

Christie’s Inc. agreed to pay $990,000 to settle litigation stemming from a 2024 RansomHub cyberattack that allegedly exposed the personal information of more than 500,000 customers.

Class counsel will get $324,907, according to a final approval order entered Tuesday by Judge Jesse M. Furman in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The auction house Christie’s agreed to implement enhanced data security measures, according to court documents.

The breach exposed passport information and driver’s license numbers, alongside full names and state and government-issued ID information.
