A group of Christian parents in California were unable to revive their lawsuit alleging a state-funded home study program discriminated against them by prohibiting them from using public funds to purchase faith-based educational materials.
A three-judge panel for the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit Thursday upheld a trial court’s order dismissing the lawsuit against the California State Board of Education and the superintendent, finding that the home study programs must follow the state’s strict curricular requirements.
