Chinese Battery Co. Hit With $3.7 Million Verdict In Patent Suit

Chinese company Zhuhai CosMX Battery Co. Ltd. owes Ningde Amperex Technology Ltd. more than $3.7 million for infringing lithium battery technology in laptops, a Texas jury determined.

The jury in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas said Feb. 9 CosMx infringed claims of US Patent Nos. 10,964,987, 10,833,363 and 11,329,352, all of which deal with battery technology like storage devices, electrolyte devices, and battery cells. But the jury also ruled asserted claims of the ‘363 and ‘352 patents were invalid, and assessed royalties only for infringement of the ‘987 patent.
