Chicco Kids’ Car-Seat Buyer Drops PFAS-Free Deception Suit

A mother who alleged kids’ car seat maker Artsana USA Inc. deceived consumers about the presence of flame retardants and PFAS in certain Chicco child restraint seats has dropped her lawsuit.

Candace Seidl alleged she bought a KeyFit 30 car seat in part because she believed it was free from the harmful chemicals that are applied to the material in some child safety seats. An independent third party test, however, concluded that it contains flame retardants and likely contains PFAS, her suit in the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said.
