The Chicago US Attorney’s office is reviewing nearly 20 years of grand jury proceedings handled by a prosecutor accused of misconduct in multiple cases, top prosecutor Andrew Boutros revealed in a motion filed Monday.
Boutros’ motion requested the dismissal of arson charges against four defendants. Judge Robert Gettleman of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois granted that motion, meaning at least ten defendants have had their charges dismissed in the growing scandal.
