Chicago Prosecutor Touts ‘Sweeping’ Grand Jury Practice Changes

The Chicago US Attorney’s Office has implemented a “remediation plan” for grand jury procedures, the office announced. The move comes less than a week after a case against anti-ICE protesters fell apart in the wake of prosecutors’ alleged misconduct before the grand jury.

The “sweeping” changes, which took effect Tuesday, “establish clear and unequivocal expectations and rules” about grand jury disclosures, according to a press release from the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.
