Millennium Hotels & Resorts lost its bid to get a federal judge to throw out allegations that it discriminated against a Black former manager because of her race and interfered with her legally protected family leave.
The ex-employee, who worked as a front office manager at the company’s Chicago hotel, sufficiently alleged that a racist work environment led to her constructive termination, the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said. Her Family and Medical Leave Act claims can also move forward, the court said Thursday.
