Chicago Health Care Company Settles $1 Million False Claims Suit

A Chicago health care company, alongside its owner, will pay $1 million to settle a false claims lawsuit, according to the Justice Department Friday.

Apollo Health Inc. and Brian J. Weinstein allegedly submitted claims to Medicare for care plan oversight services that were not actually performed.

Under the alleged instruction of Weinstein, Apollo’s billers submitted more than 12,500 claims for CPO services on behalf of 25 providers that were supposedly employed by Apollo, said the DOJ.
