Chicago Businessman’s Wire Fraud Conviction Upheld on Appeal

The head of a Chicago-based investment management firm failed to overturn a federal court’s order sentencing him to three years in prison and to pay more than $185,000 in restitution for wire fraud.

The district court properly included a $133,000 transaction within the scope of Eric Kyereme’s scheme to defraud investors, Judge Joshua P. Kolar of the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit wrote in a Monday opinion.
