Chicago Bus Driver Shot With Paintball Gun to Get Job Bias Trial

A Chicago Transit Authority driver unable to operate a bus after being shot with a paintball gun by a passing vehicle can present her discriminatory firing and failure-to-accommodate claims to a jury.

A trial could show Stephanie Scruggs’ arm-mobility issue was temporary at the time she was terminated and she could’ve stayed in her job if she’d been shifted to light duty role while she finished recovering, the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said.
