Chicago Beats Appeal Over Airport Security Law Enforcement Label

Chicago convinced the Seventh Circuit Wednesday not to revive a lawsuit brought by aviation security officers who claimed they were wrongly deprived of being considered “law enforcement” personnel.

The US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois didn’t wrongly grant summary judgment in Chicago’s favor in the suit by three aviation workers at O’Hare Airport, according to the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. The panel held that the plaintiffs failed to adhere to the proper standard, which required a finding of an abuse of discretion.
