Charles River Labs Board Hid Illegal Primate Imports, Suit Says

Charles River Laboratories International Inc.'s directors are responsible for the drugmaker’s failure to disclose that it engaged in allegedly illegal activity related to importing non-human primates for research, an investor says in a derivative suit.

The company’s stock fell 10% after it announced in February that it had received a subpoena in connection with a US Department of Justice and US Fish and Wildlife Service investigation, and would voluntarily suspend shipments of the animals from Cambodia, shareholder Jessica Mendoza says. She filed her complaint on behalf of the company Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. ...
