Challenge to San Jose Gun Liability Insurance Law Axed on Appeal

A lawsuit challenging a San Jose, Calif., law requiring gun owners to maintain liability insurance and pay a fee to a designated gun harm reduction nonprofit was tossed out by a federal appeals court on Friday.

The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said in a five-page, nonprecedential opinion that the legal challenge from the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association was properly dismissed by the district court because it lacked Article III jurisdiction over the case.
