CFPB Beats Lawsuit Over Home Energy Loan Transparency Rules

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau fended off a lawsuit challenging an agency ruling applying the same disclosure rules for mortgage lenders to loans for making homes more energy efficient and preparing for disasters.

Judge Thomas Barber of the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida in a ruling Thursday tossed out claims brought by Building Resilient Infrastructure & Developing Greater Equity Inc., a trade group representing loan administrators of the home improvement and energy loans.
