A former Centerview Partners LLC employee who only ever worked from her New Jersey home can sue the investment firm under New York disability bias laws, because her firing denied her a chance to work in New York City.
The ruling Tuesday by the US District Court for the Southern District of New York reversed course on a 2022 decision that dismissed the worker’s claims under the New York State Human Rights Law and the New York City Human Rights Law on the ground that she failed to allege she felt the impact of the discrimination in New York.
