Celebrity Ads, ‘Zealous’ Lawyers Get Florida Justices’ Approval

The Florida Supreme Court clarified that professional athletes and celebrities are able to appear in advertisements for the state’s law firms—part of a series tweaks to attorney rules issued Thursday.

The decisions, which span topics from juror questionnaires to basic warnings about generative artificial intelligence, spring mostly from uncontroversial requests for rules updates by The Florida Bar committees. The public now gets an opportunity to weigh in on the changes, which could bring more of Florida’s immense celebrity star power to the business of law.
