CDC’s Puppy Import Rule to Stay in Place During Legal Challenge

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s rule banning puppies younger than six months from entering the US will stay in place, after a federal judge on Tuesday declined to block it.

Judge Paul L. Maloney of the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan adopted a recommendation from a magistrate judge—who said in February the rule’s challengers are unlikely to succeed in the lawsuit they filed last August—and denied a request for a preliminary injunction.
