Tree of Knowledge International Inc.’sformer chairman and chief executive allegedly misled investors to believe that his company would procure three million N-95 masks for a hospital early in the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a suit filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Michael Caridiand his company, which previously sold CBD products and ran pain management clinics, allegedly received nearly $13.7 million from the hospital to distribute the personal protective equipment, the complaint filed Sept. 22 in US District Court for the District of Connecticut says.
