Cavender to Pay Up To $3,000 to Each Victim in Data Breach Deal

Cavender Stores Ltd. has agreed to pay up to $3,000 each to 27,237 people whose personal information was exposed in an April data beach, under a class action settlement given initial approval in a federal court.

Alexis Sanchez alleged that Cavender, a western clothing retailer, failed to adequately train its employees on data security and failed to maintain reasonable security safeguards or protocols to protect the personal data of employees and their family members.
