Casner & Edwards Faces Class Action on Client Data Breach

A proposed class of nearly 13,000 clients who received legal services from Casner & Edwards LLP is suing the Massachusetts-based firm for not properly securing personal identifiable information.

Plaintiff Amy Galvin claims the firm acted unlawfully negligent, failed to follow Federal Trade Commission guidelines, and committed breaches of fiduciary duty and implied contract in allowing client data to be lost to “cybercriminals,” said a complaint filed to the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts Monday.
