Cargill Sued Over Ex-Union Chief’s Alleged Racist Comment (1)

A Cargill Inc. worker sued the agricultural products company alleging he was subjected to racial harassment by the former union president, faced retaliation after complaining, and was ultimately fired after being placed on probation.

Tarik Gordon, a Black male, is suing his former employer Cargill for race discrimination, retaliation, and a hostile work environment under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, 42 U.S.C. § 1981, and the Illinois Human Rights Act. He filed is lawsuit Tuesday in the US District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
