Care.com has agreed to pay the Federal Trade Commission $8.5 million to refund customers harmed by alleged deceptive practices about wages for child and older adult caregivers, according to a press release.
The FTC alleged that Care, which has a “gig platform,” systematically deceived caregivers who were looking for jobs while failing to give families seeking care a simple way to cancel paid memberships, the FTC said Monday.
