The Herb Chambers chain of auto dealerships and a company providing management services for the dealerships are joint employers in Massachusetts, making them both liable for any violations of wage law, the state’s Appeals Court ruled Thursday.
Sakiroh Tran, an employee at Chambers BMW of Boston who helps customers get parts for their vehicles, filed a class action against Herb Chambers and Jennings Road Management Corp. accusing them of failing to pay workers overtime or Sunday premium pay.
