Cannabis product makers Wellness Group Pharms LLC and Acreage Holdings Inc. misrepresent their infused vape products as a concentrates to get around Illinois limits on the amount of tetrahydrocannabinol in individual packages, two proposed consumer class actions allege.
The companies call the vapable oil products concentrates, although they should be categorized as cannabis-infused products, in order to “sell up to 11 times the amount of CIP an adult-use consumer is allowed to lawfully possess at one time,” according to the nearly identical complaints filed Jan. 24 in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
