Campbell’s Hit With Suit Over Sugar in V8 Vegetable Juice Blends

Campbell Soup Co.'s portrayal of certain V8 vegetable blend juices as healthful misleads consumers because the drinks contain excessive amounts of sugar, a new proposed class action in a California federal court alleges.

Kyle Banta Yoshida, Anthony Mancuso, and Ashley Mistler allege the company touts its V8 “Fruit and Vegetable Blends” with phrases like “BOOST YOUR MORNING NUTRITION.”

Campbell’s has specifically named one variety “Healthy Greens,” which further conveys that the beverage is healthy, the plaintiffs allege in the suit filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
