Campbell Soup Worker Sues Alleging Fired for Positive Covid Test

Campbell Soup Co. wrongly accused a packaging technician of lying about her mother’s Covid-19 status and then fired her after she later tested positive, according to a lawsuit filed in Pennsylvania federal court.

Monica Alvarez says the chain of events that culminated in her wrongful termination started May 11, 2020, when her mother visited a Gettysburg, Pa., hospital for treatment for health conditions. The doctor who examined her mom conducted a Covid-19 test but stated the results would likely be negative, based on a CT scan that was also conducted, Alvarez says.
