A judge declared a mistrial in the case of California state Judge Jeffrey M. Ferguson, who faced a murder charge for drunkenly shooting and killing his wife with his concealed carry Glock pistol in front of their son, and then texting his staff, “I just lost it. I just shot my wife.”

Ferguson argued he shot Sheryl Ferguson in August 2023 by mistake. The jurors announced that they couldn’t reach a decision on the eighth day of deliberation, according to sources inside the courtroom, but said they hit an impasse on March 3. The jury was hung 11 to 1 ...
