A California school district’s ban on lessons that use “critical race theory” is unconstitutionally vague, a panel of state appellate justices said and halted the policy.
The Temecula Valley Unified School District’s resolution, enacted in 2022, doesn’t clearly define what the academic theory means, how it intersects with educational curriculum, or state how the policy would be enforced, the justices wrote, reversing a trial court’s order.
