Oakland Unified School District will pay $120,000 and amend its facility use policies to end a lawsuit brought by a Christian nonprofit alleging it was denied equal access to after-school space to host religious club meetings.
The district will change its policies related to community use of its facilities to ensure officials evaluate all requests against neutral and objective criteria, according to a permanent injunction issued May 15 by Judge Haywood S.
