California Moving to Keep Girardi Son-in-Law from Practicing Law

The California State Bar will seek to put indicted former Girardi Keese attorney David Lira on inactive status, limiting his ability to practice law while he defends the charges against him in an Illinois federal court, a bar prosecutor said Monday.

Office of Chief Trial Counsel attorney Eli Morgenstern told State Bar Court Judge Phong Wang that the agency is proceeding with the motion even though the court stayed two separate ethics cases against Lira.
