California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) on Tuesday announced a $2.5 million multi-party settlement with an Oakland metal manufacturer that allegedly emitted the potent carcinogen hexavalent chromium without warning residents.
AB&I Foundry, which had operated a metal casting plant in East Oakland since 1906, and its parent company McWane Inc. will pay $1.3 million to the state Department of Justice and another $1.2 million to settle claims with the California Air Review Board.
